Today is going much better than the first two days of summer holidays.
At the last minute, my son was asked to be part of a float in the Canada Day Parade in our city. So he took off with his dad this morning to join a skateboarding group to promote safety. I wish I had pictures to show all of you, but the only pictures I’ve got include my son (and I don’t publish pics of my son online – it’s all about safety, people!).
They had a half-pipe and a live punk band on the float. Seriously, coolest float ever?? Hellz yeah! And my son had a great time considering his cousin was also part of the parade float. It was nice to see them spending quality time together doing something they love.
I, on the other hand, have been stuck at home still trying to fix up this minor baseball tournament schedule that has caused me nothing but a headache since yesterday. But I think I have a good handle on it now, so hopefully I’ll be able to put it aside soon. Regardless, I didn’t get to see my son in the actual parade. I got updates from MM through texts.
After the parade, we packed up our bat bags and headed to the batting cages for a little practice. Our diamond is eerily quiet today so we got some pitching practice in as well.
I made a nice big dinner of roast, carrots, potatoes, and onions for the boys to celebrate this momentous day.
And we’ll be leaving soon to go to the cinema to catch a movie before bedtime.
It’s been a full day with a lot to do. But this is my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
🇨🇦Happy Canada Day🇨🇦
