The Flames travel to Vancouver to take on the Canucks tonight.
After two losses to the Edmonton Oilers in a home and home series to start the season, the Calgary Flames are desperate for a win. Tonight would be the perfect night to start winning.
I have to give credit to Coach Gulutzan for rolling with the punches. In each game, if he sees an issue, he changes things up. Tonight’s lineup is no exception.
It seems that Brian Elliott is out and Chad Johnson gets the start in net. As well, Dennis Wideman sits while Brett Kulak slots into the defense.
Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, and Kris Versteeg make up the first forward line again while Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Bennett, and Troy Brouwer remain unchanged. Lance Bouma moves up onto the third line with Mikael Backlund and Michael Frolik while Micheal Ferland gets bumped down to fourth line.
Defensive pairings are Mark Giordano and TJ Brodie, Dougie Hamilton and Jyrki Jokipakka, and Kulak is paired with Deryk Engelland.
Will this be enough for the Flames to get their first win tonight in Vancouver?
All line pairings and info on tonight’s game can be found on the Flames website.
